Civil engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment.
What Do Civil Engineers Do?
• Build bridges, tunnels, and other structures which are designed to facilitate the smooth, even flow of traffic while allowing for expansion
• Water treatment including sewage plants, delivery systems for fresh water, dams, and other facilities which handle both fresh and waste water
• Plan, design and track mine and construction activities at minesites
